Microprosumers in apartment buildings - Youth competition for the energy transition

Young people generally have little practical contact with the energy transition when they grow up in rental apartments or multi-unit buildings. Many of them, however, would still like to actively contribute to the energy transition. With this campaign for "microprosumers in multi-unit housing," abbreviated "µPro," they can take part in a competition combined with a research project on energy monitoring and usage behavior of PV balcony systems at Hochschule Offenburg. Experts at the University will work with them to collect consumption measurement data and document their experiences with a small solar system that can feed energy into the grid, but also power smaller AC devices (up to about 300 W consumption) and charge devices such as smartphones and tablets via a lithium-ion battery. Several workshops will also be held to further facilitate the exchange.
